One of our central beliefs at Hygge Birth and Baby is, empowered communities equals empowered families. We recently had an opportunity to put this into action, volunteering for Project C.U.R.E Denver.
Project C.U.R.E.’s mission is to deliver health & hope to the world by providing medical supplies and equipment to hospitals and clinics throughout the developing world. By preventing deaths from treatable illness, Project C.U.R.E. provides children the chance to get an education and live a full life.
On a Sunday afternoon in July, a team of Hygge staff, family, and friends gathered at Project C.U.R.E.’s Denver distribution center to pack birth supply bags for overseas families. Our group sorted and package medical supplies for delivery, stocked inventory, prepared for shipments and loaded containers. We packed up items like baby blankets and diapers. By the end our time, our team packed 200 bags. These bags will be sent with the medical support teams as they help to welcome new babies into the world and give them their best start.
We’re especially grateful to Clinical Director Anne Willits, who organized this very special event.
